Questions

The things people actually ask me.

Including the awkward ones.

Is this legitimate?

Is this a scam?

No, and I understand why you're asking. DirectMeds has been operating since 2024 with thousands of reviews. Prescriptions come from licensed providers, medications from licensed compounding pharmacies. It ships by FedEx with tracking.

What throws people is the order of things — you pay, then you wait, and often nobody calls, because the provider can review your history without needing to. That quiet stretch is the process working normally. More on that here.

Why did I have to pay before a doctor saw me?

Because the model doesn't charge a separate consultation fee. You pay for the medication, and the provider review is part of that. If the provider says you're not a good candidate, you're refunded in full.

It's a fair trade, and worth understanding going in.

Is it FDA approved?

Not in the way a branded, mass-manufactured drug is. The active ingredients have established clinical use, but compounded preparations aren't individually FDA-approved. It's legal and it's how compounding pharmacies have always worked. The full explanation is here.

Is compounded the same as generic?

No. Generic has a specific legal meaning and this isn't it. Compounded means a licensed pharmacy prepares the medication against your prescription. Same active ingredient as the brand you know, not an identical product.

Money

Is there a membership or consultation fee?

No. You pay for the medication.

Is it a subscription?

Yes. The first order is discounted and then it recurs at the regular price. Every number is on the pricing page — first order and recurring, side by side, because you should know both before you decide.

Can I pay monthly?

There's a six-month prepay option through Affirm at 0% if you qualify, which works out lower per month. It has to be set up over the phone with me rather than through the link.

Worth saying plainly: financing is a tool, not a recommendation. If the monthly figure is the only thing making this affordable, be honest with yourself about a six-month commitment first.

Does using your link cost me more?

No. My link carries the best pricing available. I earn a commission on orders through it — that's how I'm paid, and I'd rather you know it than not.

What if I want to cancel?

Changes to an existing account go through Customer Service rather than through me — that's how the company splits it, so that new orders and account changes don't get tangled. Tell me and I'll get you to the right people rather than leaving you on hold.

The process

How long until it arrives?

Once the provider approves and the pharmacy fills it, shipping is about five business days. It goes cold, packed on ice, by FedEx. It can't be delivered to a PO box.

Will I talk to a doctor?

Maybe not, and that's normal. In many states the provider reviews your intake and approves it without a call. If something in your history needs a closer look — or if your state requires a consult — they'll reach out before approving.

What does the intake form ask for?

A photo of you, a photo of your ID, date of birth, height and weight, your state, and your medical history. Have your ID out before you start. About ten minutes.

I got stuck on the intake form.

Call me. It's the easiest thing in the world for me to fix, and it takes two minutes. Don't leave an order sitting because a photo upload wouldn't cooperate.

Is it available in my state?

Availability varies by state, and so do the rules about whether a provider consult is required. Ask me before you order if you want to be sure.

About me

Are you a doctor?

No. I'm a patient onboarding specialist. I explain the programs, help you through the process, and stay your point of contact. Anything clinical — dosing, side effects, interactions, whether something is right for you — goes to the provider or the clinical team. I'll tell you when a question is above my pay grade rather than guessing at it.

Why did you call me?

Because you started a form on the DirectMeds site, and that routes you to a real person rather than leaving you to figure it out alone. Sometimes that call comes through faster than you were expecting — if you'd rather read first and talk later, that's completely fine. That's what this site is for.

Why should I use you instead of just ordering?

You get the best available pricing either way, plus a specific person whose job it is to pick up when something goes wrong with your order. That's the whole offer. No pressure attached to it.

Still stuck?

If your question isn't here, ask me. Genuinely — an unanswered question is the main reason people don't start, and I'd rather spend ten minutes on it than have you guess.
